Our symptoms started before the game did, technically. When all of us got the messages explaining our roles, the aphrodisiacs were already starting. I don't know if it was the same for the rest of you, but it didn't seem like it was for a Hearts friend of mine.

During the game, I personally experienced changes to my genitals, but I know other Diamonds took on more animalistic changes—tails and ears, same as other suits. Most of the changes seemed to fit the rabbit theme, but

Did the other suits' physical changes all match their animal theme? That could be a difference.

No. Not that I'm aware. Every person I encountered seemed to fit their category, and the only exception was a Diamond bearing no animal features at all.

On the hypothesis of Diamonds being most physically influenced, perhaps this ability is unique to them. [Or, to "rogers", specifically — as one of these Diamonds. Sasuke isn't embarrassed at the discussion, but he keeps in mind who he is addressing.] We would need a larger sample pool to know for certain, but that's assuming everyone is willing to share.

I am beginning to suspect that Clubs may be more mentally focused. And Hearts, more emotional. However, I only have circumstantial proof for these.

[And that leaves Spades out. He has little idea there, given it is probably the suit he's engaged with least personally.]

Unfortunately, the nature of what's happening to all of us means people are going to be less than forthcoming about their experiences.

[ on the subject of everyone being willing to share, that is. for most people, sexuality is private, even shameful. add shame to anything, people become less willing to talk about it. ]

That being the case, circumstantial proof might be the best we can do, Even if we could send out an anonymized survey, there's nothing that would stop anyone from lying, whether for fun or otherwise.

[ so... what options does that leave them with, if the rest of the hotel can't be relied upon? ]

We know the hotel likes themes. The cards, ranks, the game—they never pass up an opportunity to come up with a theme to their tricks. So: physical, mental, emotional—what fits that theme? More to the point, what fits that theme and can be manipulated to encourage sexuality?

Some are surprisingly forthright, but yes. I encountered that when I made my original post. It seems that finding answers is less important than anonymity and making inappropriate comments.

[Many people had called him out on sharing nothing in return... so he's a hypocrite — but it's hard to be a reformed prude with intense privacy issues, okay. At least he can be honest with those who approach him directly, as "rogers" has.]

It's hard to say. You could consider mental and physical to be opposites, as the mind and body, but emotionality... that would be apathy, wouldn't it? I don't see how that fits. And I haven't met anyone who has become less emotional as a result of their suit. Then again, I'm less familiar with Spades. Have you known any well enough that you could report on their behavior?

If we're strictly sticking with the theme of what can be influenced about a person, the only missing area I can imagine would be spirituality. Mind, body, heart, soul.

Seems like a lot of the newer guests are surprisingly content to accept things here without asking too many questions.

[ there's a difference between not knowing where to start looking for answers, or not trusting anyone enough to work together, and just blindly accepting that the information given is accurate—there's way more people playing the game because they believe winning it will get them home than steve would have expected. ]

I don't know any Spades that well, no. I might have a few casual contacts I can get a little closer with, though, ask what their experiences have been like.

Spirituality does seem to fit the theme, but what would influencing the soul look like? How would it differ from influencing the mind?

You could ask publicly about the experience of Spades, if this is something you wish to pursue. From there you might be able to get an idea of what it could mean and whether it has any connection to the soul. But in the end, we're only guessing.
